"State senators decided Wednesday that local governments should not be forced to keep public records in special electronic formats just because one group or organization wants them to.
The decision came when Sen. Nancy Collins, R-Tupelo and chairman of the Accountability, Efficiency and Transparency Committee, promoted a bill aimed at making it easy to obtain copies of public records."
