Florida court improves records access

"A new time-saving online case maintenance system called CLERICUS made its debut on the Martin County Clerk of Court's website Monday.

"We turned on the switch this morning," said Court Clerk Marsha Ewing. "It has gone relatively well. This was a massive amount of data to convert."

It took six months to make the transition from the old multiple databases to the new integrated system.

"The new system has a lot of benefits," Ewing said. "This is a universal case management system, which means that if you are looking for information about an individual, it will pull up every single case for that person. In the past, you looked through separate databases, so this new system has huge advantages.""
