Wisconsin bill would open juvenile court records

"Police, prosecutors and judges across Wisconsin would get greater access to juvenile court records under a bill pending in Madison, eliminating a potentially dangerous blind spot in the criminal justice system.

The bill would let officers stopping a teenager on the street know if he or she is facing charges in juvenile court or is on probation. It also would give judges and prosecutors access to juvenile records, giving them a more complete picture of a defendant."
