"Starting this year, individuals convicted of first-degree murders in Illinois will have to register their names, address, employment places and photos on a newly created database, like the already existing sex offender registry, for 10 years after their release from prison.
For convicted sex offenders already on the register, they will also have to sign up with their campus’ public safety office if they are attending or working at a university."
