"More than 278,000 complaints of identity theft were filed with the
Federal Trade Commission in 2009, accounting for 21 percent of all the
complaints to the FTC that year.
The FTC received 119,500 complaints
about debt collection last year, the second-largest category, according
to a new FTC report.
