~ michigan expands mandatory criminal background checks ~

The Michigan legislature has expanded the requirements for residential care facilities to conduct criminal background checks on all employees with access to facility residents or their personal information.
The legislation requires Michigan’s almost 5,000 residential care facilities to conduct criminal background checks of all new employees and creates a database of residential care facility employees to continually monitor future criminal
convictions.
