~ find and analyze federal government data ~

The Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) catalogues personal and statistical data on various parts of the federal government. For a fee, you can query their database on a host of topics. The federal judicial section of the database allows the user to research by case topic or specific judge to uncover the range and number of cases handled, their outcomes, average sentence imposed in criminal cases and the length of trials.

TRAC describes the "federal staffing" section of its database:

Detailed information about most of the civilian employees working for the federal government accessible on TRAC's Federal Staffing layer. Over 25 years worth of data -- more than 50 million records -- over 100 gigabytes of information -- all at your fingertips.

Examine statistical overviews or drill down to information about individual employees: Who are they? Where do they work? What is their occupation? What are they paid?

The $50/month fee may be reduced for non-profits and media organizations.
